Seating. Allow roughly 60cm of table length per seated guest for comfortable elbow room.

Shape and scale. Oval and round tables suit conversation-focused spaces; rectangular tables maximise seating in longer rooms. Measure your space with at least 90cm clearance on all sides for chairs to pull out comfortably.

Material. Solid timber develops character over years of family meals, expect natural grain variation, knots and colour differences between pieces.
